How does the rental work?
We offer a rental agreement but with much more flexibility. You can rent and take home your dream gear for a low monthly payment. You have the flexibility to apply to buy the equipment at any time, return any time after the minimum rental period, or continue renting for up to 36 months. It’s a great choice if you want to be certain about product you want.
Is it a rent-to-buy?
Our rental agreement is not rent-to-buy, however we do offer the flexibility to apply to buy at any time or return any time after the minimum rental period.
What’s the minimum rental period?
If you decide you don't want to purchase or if the gear is no longer for you, you can return any time after 6 months, 12 months or 36 months.
How long until I'm approved?
If all of the required documentation is submitted on application, the approval process takes 1-2 business days, however some applications may receive same day approval.
When will I receive my goods?
Our Preloved products are in stock and are typically dispatched the following business day. Delivery of New products are dispatched in 5 - 10 days depending on the supplier. Once approved, our Customer Service team will advise customers of their expected delivery date.
When can I return my gear?
Once you’ve reached your minimum rental period, you have the flexibility to return at any time. When you’ve decided to return any of your rental items, our Customer Service team can assist further with rental returns.
Can I buy my equipment?
Once you’ve received your rental items, you can apply to buy at any time, even after one day. The purchase price of all our products can be found on the product page on our website under Apply to Purchase Pricing. When a rental application is approved, a breakdown of the purchase costs are provided along with the rental agreement.
What if I change my mind?
Approved applications of Preloved products are offered a 14 day cooling off period. Please note that Brand New products do not have a cooling off period, and the minimum rental period is required to be met.
Can I buy my gear?
Absolutely! You can apply to buy any time, even after one day. There are no hidden fees for buying any of your rental products at any time.
What about insurance?
We offer an optional protection plan with most of our gear. Our protection plan is different from insurance and doesn’t cover every eventuality. It does protect you from accidental damage, fire and theft in Australia. Our Customer Service team can provide you with more details and assist if you have any questions. Additionally, we recommend checking with your own insurance company, as your existing contents insurance may already extend coverage to your rentals.
What about repairs and servicing?
We’re happy to carry out any repairs as needed* - simply contact our team and we’ll help you sort it out. Unfortunately, this doesn’t cover consumables like guitar strings, camera straps, or bike tyres. Some conditions do apply and it’s best to contact our Customer Service team or read the terms and conditions for all the details.
How are payments debited?
To keep things simple, payments are charged on a set date each month from a debit or credit card. If a payment date falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment will be processed on the following business day.
Do you do credit checks?
Yes, as a accredited credit provider, all our applications are subject to a standard credit check and affordability assessment.
What if I miss a payment?
We understand that there are circumstances when occasional oversights can occur, and we’re here to help. If you anticipate your payment is going to bounce, let us know a business day beforehand and we will hold it for you. If we are unable to process a payment due to a problem with your bank account or credit card, please note that a $16 default fee will apply.
If you need to change the timing of your payment, our Collections team can provide assistance with future payments.
What if I rent for the full 36 months? Do I automatically own the goods?
If you continue to rent for the maximum 36 months, we will contact you and help you finalise your agreement. However, please note that you don’t automatically own the gear. As it is a rental, there is always a one-off payment at the end to own the goods. The longer you rent, the smaller that payment becomes due to the item devaluing. For example, if you were to apply to buy at one month, the cost is very close to the original value of your item. Whereas, if you apply to buy at 36 months the cost is more likely to be around the value of one rental payment.
What if I'm on a Visa?
Temporary Visa applicants can apply however there is a maximum rental limit of $160 per month ($3,000 sell price). They must have an Australian residential address, their Visa must extend past the 6-month minimum rental period, and they must have an active Australian bank account.
